Sonoma County Mothers of Multiples (SCMOM)
Welcome to the Wonderful
World of Parenting Multiples!
You’ve
read the parenting books and magazines; you’ve talked to your doctor; you may
have even had a baby before, but you will find that nothing compares to the
challenge of caring for two or more babies, or young children at once! The Sonoma County Mother of Multiples Club is a group of mothers and
fathers of twins and triplets who have come together for support, education,
ideas – and yes – fun! And yes,
you may join our group while pregnant and begin to receive the many benefits of
membership before you deliver!
Our general meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Our meetings may feature an informative speaker, a craft project or a social meal. We welcome moms, dads, parenting partners, and babies to our meetings.

Our
award-winning monthly newsletter features a schedule of events, membership news,
club business and other articles of interest to parents of multiples.
We
sponsor several yearly events for both our members and their children. Some of these include an Easter Egg
Hunt, a children’s Holiday Party, a Moms' holiday party
and a Family Picnic. Events
are held throughout the year for the benefit of new moms and their children.
The
moms usually celebrate Mother’s Day with an evening out and schedule several
other outings during the year just for themselves. We have pictures of some of
our events on our events page.
Members have access to our members only online message board to discuss all the different aspects of parenting multiples.
One
of the nicest benefits of our club is the extensive collection of parenting and
multiple-related books and videotapes in the club library.
Our
programs include Meals for MOMs, a Big Sister Support Program, a Preemie
Clothing Closet, and supplies for needy families. We also maintain a resource list of members with experience
who can answer questions on specific topics such as premature labor,
breastfeeding, siblings, childcare, toilet training, etc.
We raise money by selling twin-related goods and by various activities to subsidize our holiday events, speakers and outreach program. Our biggest fundraiser is our clothing and equipment sale, which is held on a yearly basis.
